  EL VRS es un virus de la familia Paramyxoviridae, que mide entre 150 y 300 nm, considerado un gran tamaño para ser un virus ARN. El VRS afecta principalmente a niños, accediendo a las vías respiratorias a través de fómites o en forma de aerosoles.

  Existe una gran variabilidad en la severidad de la enfermedad, dependiendo de distintos factores de base en el paciente.

  No existen vacunas para la prevención del VRS y el tratamiento va enfocado a paliar los síntomas producidos por el proceso.

  VRS is a virus of the Paramyxoviridae family, which measures between 150 and 300 nm, being large in size for an RNA virus. VRS mainly affects children, accessing the respiratory tract through fomites or in the form of aerosols.

  There is great variability in the severity of the disease, depending on different underlying factors in the patient.

  There are no vaccines for the prevention of RSV and treatment is focused on alleviating the symptoms produced by the process.
