Paciente que ingresa en UCI tras implantación de Heartmate III, dispositivo de asistencia ventricular izquierda de larga duración. La implantación de este dispositivo es para pacientes que tiene contraindicación de ser trasplantados, y así poder alargar unos años de vida. (1,2) Consiste en una bomba implantada en cavidad cardiaca, qué extrae sangre del ápex del ventrículo izquierdo y retorna a la aorta ascendente, manteniendo un gasto cardiaco óptimo para los órganos vitales1,2.
En este artículo expondremos un Caso Clínico visto en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Post-cardiaca.
Patient admitted to the ICU after implantation of Heartmate III, a long-term left ventricular assist device. The implantation of this device is for patients who are not eligible for transplantation, in order to extend their life for a few more years. It consists of a pump implanted in the heart cavity, which extracts blood from the apex of the left ventricle and returns it to the ascending aorta, maintaining optimal cardiac output for vital organs. In this article, we will present a Clinical Case seen in the Post-cardiac Intensive Care Unit.
