Manuela tiene 79 años, viuda y vive con su hijo, Manuel, con quien mantiene relación conflictiva por alcoholismo. Ingresa desde consulta de anestesia por control analítico patológico: presenta anemia importante. Se está estudiando para intervenir el suelo pélvico. Cuando la interrogó por el tratamiento y dieta, me comentó que a veces se olvida de tomarlo, y no sabe concretar qué toma y para qué. “Yo tengo muchas pastillas, pero no sé para qué sirven, el médico no para de recetar y, con la cabeza que tengo, algunas veces se me olvida tomarlas”.

The patient was admitted from the anesthesia clinic due to pathological analytical control: he had significant anemia. She is being studied for pelvic floor surgery. When I ask her about her treatment and diet, she tells me that sometimes she forgets to take it, and she doesn’t know what she takes and for what. «I have a lot of pills, but I don’t know what they’re for, the doctor doesn’t stop prescribing them and, with the head I have, sometimes I forget to take them.»
