Evaluación de la superficie ocular en pacientes glaucomatosos

    El glaucoma es una neuropatía óptica multifactorial en la que se produce una pérdida progresiva de los axones de las células ganglionares. El primer tratamiento de elección es el tratamiento médico, sin embargo existe una evidencia científica creciente sobre el efecto negativo que puede tener dicha medicación sobre la superficie ocular. El objetivo de esta revisión es conocer la evaluación de la superficie ocular en pacientes con glaucoma.

    Glaucoma is a multifactorial optic neuropathy in which there is a progressive loss of ganglion cell axons. The first treatment of choice is medical treatment, however there is growing scientific evidence on the negative effect that such medication can have on the ocular surface. The objective of this review is to understand the evaluation of the ocular surface in patients with glaucoma.
