La Diabetes Mellitus Gestacional (DMG) es la intolerancia a los hidratos de carbono que es diagnosticada por primera vez durante la gestación. Su importancia radica en las posibles complicaciones que pueden afectar tanto a la madre como al bebé si no se trata adecuadamente. Muchas veces la embarazada no está preparada para este diagnóstico, y existe el riesgo de que aparezcan sentimientos de culpa y ansiedad, dificultando la adaptación al tratamiento necesario para evitar las complicaciones.
