Un hombre de 43 años con severa tinción dental causada por exposición temprana a tetraciclina buscó un tratamiento restaurativo que preservara su estructura dental. A lo largo de su vida, ha adquirido un alto «IQ dental» y ha mostrado un firme compromiso con la preservación de sus dientes naturales, rechazando tratamientos que requerirían alteraciones significativas. Al llegar a nuestra clínica, el paciente estaba buscando un enfoque mínimamente invasivo y estéticamente agradable. Su persistencia en conservar la mayor cantidad de estructura dental posible guio todas las etapas de la planificación del tratamiento. En una colaboración estrecha y detallada entre el clínico y el protésico ceramista, se desarrolló un plan de tratamiento utilizando materiales de restauración alternativos. Se realizó una prueba de carilla en un diente para asegurarse de que la tinción podía ser enmascarada con una preparación mínima. Este caso demuestra que incluso la tinción severa por tetraciclina puede ser tratada de forma conservadora y estética, siempre que se respeten los deseos del paciente, se seleccione el material más adecuado y se mantenga una colaboración meticulosa entre los profesionales. A 43-year-old man with severe tooth staining caused by early exposure to tetracycline sought restorative treatment that would preserve his tooth structure. Throughout his life, he has acquired a high «dental IQ» and has shown a strong commitment to preserving his natural teeth, refusing treatments that would require significant alterations. Upon arrival at our clinic, the patient was looking for a minimally invasive and aesthetically pleasing approach. His persistence in preserving as much tooth structure as possible guided all stages of treatment planning. In a close and detailed collaboration between the clinician and the ceramic dental technician, a treatment plan was developed using alternative restorative materials. A veneer try-in was performed on a tooth to ensure that the staining could be masked with minimal preparation. This case demonstrates that even severe tetracycline staining can be treated conservatively and aesthetically, provided that the patient’s wishes are respected, the most appropriate material is selected and meticulous collaboration between practitioners is maintained. At the end of the treatment, the patient expressed his satisfaction with the results obtained.
