Una dehiscencia es una separación total o parcial de una herida que puede ser grave y aumentar el riesgo de infección. Su presentación puede ser sin síntomas específicos y factores como la obesidad, diabetes, tabaquismo y cirugías largas aumentan el riesgo. Es importante evaluar estos riesgos antes de la cirugía para adaptar al máximo posible el tipo de intervención.
