Esta tarea conlleva importantes beneficios en el paciente y hace que la relación entre éste y el auxiliar se afiance. Por este motivo el profesional debe conocer la técnica y llevarla a cabo con destreza y celeridad.
La piel es el órgano más extenso y que en pacientes encamados puede sufrir mucho si no se le dan los cuidados necesarios. El auxiliar es quien, durante el aseo del paciente, puede observar alguna anomalía en la piel, consecuencia de humedad, presión, rozamiento, etc. que puede ser indicativo de úlcera por presión.
