Son varias las patologías por las que un paciente puede acabar en situación terminal y por tanto necesitar la aplicación de cuidados paliativos que no siempre pueden ser proporcionados en el ámbito hospitalario y que por tanto requieren el trabajo de un equipo interdisciplinar y la colaboración familiar del entorno del paciente.
Los cuidados paliativos pretenden mitigar el sufrimiento del paciente que tiene una enfermedad definida como terminal y que por ende se define como aquella enfermedad reconocida, progresiva, irreversible e incurable.
El presente trabajo tiene por objeto presentar un plan de cuidados estandarizados de enfermería para abordar tanto la situación terminal del paciente como la posible problemática familiar asociada que se puede ocasionar ante la aplicación de cuidados paliativos por parte de la familia.
There are several pathologies for which a patient may end up in a terminal situation and therefore require the application of palliative care, which cannot always be provided in the hospital setting and which therefore require the work of an interdisciplinary team and the collaboration of the patient’s family environment.
Palliative care aims to mitigate the suffering of the patient with a terminal illness, defined as a recognised, progressive, irreversible and incurable disease.
The aim of this paper is to present a standardised nursing care plan to address both the patient’s terminal situation and the possible associated family problems that may arise when palliative care is applied by the family.
