La UCI posee requisitos funcionales, estructurales y organizativos los cuales le aportan seguridad, calidad y eficiencia. Es por ello que una organización y distribución tanto de recursos materiales como de recursos humanos es vital para su correcto funcionamiento, todo ello va muy enlazado junto con la gestión de enfermería de la unidad y la importancia de la misma.

The UCI has functional structural and organizational requirements which provide security, quality and efficiency. That is why an organization and distribution of both material resources and human resources is vital for its correct functioning; all of this is closely linked to the nursing management of the unit and its importance.
