Varón de 35 años que acude al servicio de urgencias, tras sufrir una caída montando en bicicleta, por dolor e inflamación en la muñeca derecha.
En urgencias tras realizarle radiografía de la muñeca derecha y TAC se diagnostica fractura multifragmentaria de radio distal derecho con afección intraarticular y leve angulación palmar (fractura de Smith) Se le coloca una férula de yeso palmoantebraquial como tratamiento conservador y se indica al paciente la posibilidad de precisar una cirugía posterior que se confirma 7 días después en la consulta de traumatología previo control radiológico.

In the emergency room, after an x-ray of the right wrist and a CT scan, a multifragmentary fracture of the right distal radius with intra-articular involvement and slight palmar angulation (Smith’s fracture) was diagnosed.
A palmoantebrachial plaster splint is placed as conservative treatment and the patient is informed of the possibility of needing subsequent surgery, which is confirmed 7 days later in the trauma consultation after radiological control.
