La bronquiolitis aguda (BA) es la infección del tracto respiratorio inferior más frecuente en los lactantes1-5. El virus respiratorio sincitial (VRS) es la causa más frecuente de enfermedad respiratoria y hospitalización en menores de 1 año (más del 80% son menores de 6 meses)6. El objetivo del estudio es conocer la incidencia de hospitalización del paciente pediátrico por bronquiolitis en la planta de enfermedades infecciosas del Hospital Materno Infantil Miguel Servet.

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is the most common cause of respiratory disease and hospitalization in children under 1 year of age (more than 80% are under 6 months of age)6. The objective of the study is to know the incidence of hospitalization of pediatric patients for bronchiolitis in the infectious diseases ward of the Miguel Servet Maternal and Child Hospital.
