La dermatitis seborreica es una enfermedad cutánea, inflamatoria, de etiología multifactorial, que se caracteriza por la presencia de zonas eritematosas, que provocan descamación y picor de intensidad variable, en determinadas zonas corporales.
El diagnóstico es fundamentalmente clínico y es necesario hacer un diagnóstico diferencial, para no confundirla con patologías similares.
No existe cura definitiva para la dermatitis seborreica y el tratamiento está enfocado a aliviar la sintomatología que presenta el paciente. Existen diferentes alternativas de tratamiento y la elección de uno u otro, dependerá de la gravedad y la localización de las lesiones.
