Se denomina neumonía al proceso infeccioso de diverso origen que produce una infección de las vías respiratorias inferiores. Puede cursar con diversos síntomas como, fiebre, tos, dolor y dificultad respiratoria. Es de vital importancia un diagnóstico temprano a través de AS, RX y valoración general ya que la complicación de esta patología puede comprometer gravemente el estado de salud ocasionando la muerte. E l tratamiento utilizado es la oxigenoterapia, y antibióticos específicos.
