  El virus de la hepatitis A (VHA) es un virus del género Hepatovirus, cuyo principal mecanismo de transmisión es de persona a persona mediante transmisión fecal-oral. Cuya población susceptible es la más joven, los niños.

  El virus de la hepatitis E (VHE) es un virus sin clasificar, cuyo principal mecanismo de transmisión es por agua contaminada por heces infectadas. Cuya población susceptible es entre 15-40 años.

  Hoy en día no hay tratamiento para estas enfermedades. Su tratamiento está basado en la sintomatología, afortunadamente no se suele necesitar ingreso hospitalario.
