Introduction:
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic demyelinating neurodegenerative disease of the central nervous system. Its etiology is unknown, although various current studies support the presence of the Epstein-Barr virus as a necessary cause to develop the disease. The symptomatology is very varied, being its clinical diagnosis and through an MRI and laboratory tests for confirmation. Treatment is not curative. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, this treatment has been affected, leading to a situation of vulnerability for people with MS, which leads to a deterioration of their physical and mental health.
Main objective:
To identify through an individualized Nursing Care Process (PAE) the real and potential needs of a woman with SPMS after the SARS-Cov-2 pandemic.
Methodology:
A detailed bibliographic search and interviews with different people with MS are carried out, carrying out the elaboration of a clinical case on a typical patient after the period of confinement and the elaboration of an individualized PAE for her using the NANDA, NOC and NIC taxonomy.
Conclusion:
The negative impact on the health of people with MS due to the confinement of COVID-19 has highlighted the importance of preparing an individualized PAE for people with MS. With this, it is intended to improve the acceptance of health, as well as their mental health and adaptability of their functionality through the collaboration of the patient and their relatives, as well as the rest of the professionals of the multidisciplinary team.
