Varón de 33 años que es trasladado a Urgencias del Hospital tras sufrir un accidente de tráfico. Debido a la gravedad de este, es intervenido de urgencia por el servicio de traumatología donde realizan dos amputaciones supracondíleas en ambas extremidades inferiores. Esta nueva situación provoca un gran cambio en la vida del paciente tanto en su entorno familiar como social, necesitando aprender a manejarse con una silla de ruedas y retomar las actividades de su vida antes de sufrir el accidente.
A 33 year old male who is transferred to the emergency department of the hospital after suffering a traffic accident. Due to the severity of this, he underwent emergency surgery by trauma service where they performed two supracondylar amputations in both lower limbs. This new situation causes a great change in the patient’s life, both in his family and social environment, needing to learn how to handle a wheelchair and resume the activities of his life before suffering the accident.
