El tromboembolismo pulmonar (TEP) es el taponamiento u oclusión de cierta parte del espacio arterial pulmonar (los vasos sanguíneos que llevan la sangre pobre en oxígeno desde el corazón hasta los pulmones para oxigenarla) debido a un émbolo o trombo que procede de alguna otra parte del cuerpo.
Pulmonary thromboembolism (PE) is the plugging or occlusion of a certain part of the pulmonary arterial space (the blood vessels that carry oxygen-poor blood from the heart to the lungs to oxygenate it) due to an embolus or thrombus coming from elsewhere of the body.
