La resección transuretral de vejiga (RTU), es un procedimiento quirúrgico realizado por el urólogo, cuyo objetivo principal es extirpar o tratar tumoraciones vesicales, así como para administrar tratamientos intravesicales, de los cuales posteriormente hay que comprobar su eficacia.
La cirugía se realiza en el quirófano junto con el anestesista, que administrará una anestesia general o raquídea, en función de cada paciente, aunque por norma general suele ser la raquídea con sedación la más utilizada.

The surgery is performed in the operating room together with the anesthesiologist, who will administer anesthesia, general or spinal, depending on each patient, although spinal anesthesia with sedation is usually the most commonly used.
