La familia no sólo cuida en el hogar, también lo hace en el hospital. En ese espacio desconocido para la cuidadora familiar, acompaña a su familiar enfermo, al tiempo que, encerrada entre las paredes del hospital, ve interrumpida su propia vida debido a su labor cuidadora. El propósito de esta investigación es narrar la experiencia de una hija que cuida a su madre en el hospital a través de sus propias palabras. Para ello, se lleva a cabo un relato biográfico a partir de una entrevista en profundidad, que refleja las vivencias y sentimientos de la informante a raíz de la enfermedad y hospitalización de su madre, así como los cambios que ha tenido que afrontar en su vida diaria. De modo que, el testimonio de esta hija, rico en detalles, permite acercarnos y comprender el significado de cuidar a un ser queri-do en el hospital.
The family not only takes care at home, they also do it in the hospital. In that unknown environment for the family caregiver, she accom-panies her sick relative, and while she is isolated between the walls of the hospital, her own life is interrupted because of her role as care-giver. The objective of this research is to tell the experience of a daughter who takes care of her mother in the hospital through her own words. For that purpose, a biographical report is carried out in the form of an in depth interview, that shows the experiences and feelings of the informant as a result of the disease and hospitalization of her mother, as well as the changes that she has had to confront in her daily life. Therefore, the testimony of this daughter, full of details, allows us to approach and understand the meaning of caring for a loved one in the hospital.
