El papel de la enfermería en el proceso quirúrgico, desde que el paciente conoce que va a ser sometido a una intervención quirúrgica hasta que se le da de alta definitiva, es fundamental, complejo y muy variado en sus diferentes fases. Es importante que enfermería conozca sus diferentes funciones para poder actuar correctamente y saber abordar las necesidades que requiera el paciente en cada fase. Este artículo describe el proceso enfermero durante el perioperatorio de un paciente varón intervenido quirúrgicamente de cáncer vesical mediante resección transuretral vesical (RTU), con este proceso se puede mostrar una visión global del papel enfermero en todas sus fases.
The role of nursing in the surgical process, from the moment the patient knows that he is going to undergo a surgical intervention until he is definitively discharged, is fundamental, complex, and highly varied in its different phases. It is important that nursing knows its different functions to act correctly and know how to address the needs that the patient requires in each phase. This article describes the nursing process during the perioperative period of a male patient who underwent surgery for bladder cancer by transurethral bladder resection (TUR). With this process, a global vision of the nursing role in all its phases can be shown.
