El tratamiento de las complicaciones de las heridas quirúrgicas es complejo y esto supone una prolongación hospitalaria, mayor gasto económico y un aumento de la morbimortalidad.
Entre los tratamientos más novedosos, se encuentra el VAC (vacuum assisted closure). Se trata de un sistema que realiza una succión continua o intermitente sobre la herida quirúrgica, que previamente tiene una esponja de poliuretano dentro de los bordes de la herida y está sellada con un plástico, al que se le hace una pequeña incisión y sobre el que se coloca el tubo de succión. El sistema de cierre asistido es por presión negativa y ha demostrado ser eficaz en el control de este tipo de herida, reduciendo el tiempo de cicatrización y hospitalización
The treatment of complications from surgical wounds is complex and this implies a hospital prolongation, higher economic costs and an increase in morbidity and mortality.
Among the newer treatments is VAC (vacuum assisted closure). It is a system that performs continuous or intermittent suction on the surgical wound, which previously has a polyurethane sponge inside the wound edges and is sealed with a plastic, to which a small incisión is made and on which the suction tube is placed the assisted closure system is by negative pressure and it has proven to be effective in the control of this type of wound, reducing the time of healing and hospitalization.
