Uno de los tipos de infección nosocomial es la infección del sitio quirúrgico, y es el tipo de nosocomial más prevalente en España. Repercuten de manera importante en el paciente, en su estancia hospitalaria y en su recuperación. De ahí, la importancia en la prevención de estas, y por esto se exponen las principales actuaciones para evitar su aparición.
Nosocomial infections are a worldwide problem. A significant number of patients admitted to hospitals will develop one. One of the types of nosocomial infection is surgical site infection, and it is the most prevalent type of nosocomial infection in Spain. They have an important impact on the patient, on their hospital stay and on their recovery. Hence, the importance in the prevention of these, and for this the main actions to avoid their appearance are exposed in this article.
