Uso de alteplasa en pacientes con ictus isquémico agudo y enfermería: Revisión bibliográfica

    Introducción: Normalmente, un paciente con ictus isquémico agudo confirmado tras la primera Tomografía Computerizada craneal, requiere de trombólisis inmediata. Por ello, es necesario que el personal de Enfermería conozca y esté capacitado para esta intervención. Sin embargo, esta práctica aún es insuficiente en toda Europa, perjudicando la evolución y pronóstico del paciente con ictus isquémico agudo, debido a demoras pre e intrahospitalarias, escasez de unidades especializadas, personal cualificado y recursos diagnósticos y la inversión financiera insuficiente.

    Resultados: se analizan 12 artículos de PubMed que respaldan la eficacia del uso de Alteplasa para realizar trombólisis en pacientes con ictus isquémico agudo, y el beneficio que aporta la enfermera en el cuidado de estos pacientes.

    Discusión y conclusiones: Los beneficios de la Alteplasa son significativos y tiempo-dependientes, y la enfermera optimiza los cuidados del paciente trombolizado.

    Introduction: A patient who suffers from a confirmed acute ischemic stroke after the first Computed Tomography scan of the brain normally requires immediate thrombolysis. That is why it is important for nursing staff to be familiar and skilled in such intervention. However, given that this procedure is not carried out enough in Europe, it negatively affects both the progress and prognosis of an acute ischemic stroke patient. This is due to outof-hospital and in-hospital delays, shortages of specialised units, trained staff and diagnostic resources and an insufficient financial investment.

    Results: 12 articles from PubMed were analysed. These articles support the effectiveness of using Alteplase for thrombolysis in acute ischemic stroke patients, and the benefit a nurse provides while caring for them.

    Discussion and conclusions: Alteplase’s benefits are both significant and time-dependent, and the nurse optimises the care of thrombolised patients.
