    Este relato biográfico se centra en la vida de una cuidadora de 67 años que cuida de su hijo, Paco, discapacitado desde hace 20 años, tras un accidente de tráfico. Tras este suceso, su vida dio un vuelco, presentando lo más inaceptable para una madre que es la enfermedad y el padecimiento de un hijo.

    Las vivencias del cuidado son más intensas cuando el cuidador es la madre del paciente ya que es más admisible cuidar de una persona mayor siguiendo el ciclo vital natural.

    Ésta es la faceta que he querido resaltar, la forma de cuidar de una madre, con entrega en cuerpo y alma, sus sentimientos, sus miedos y su fuerza, a pesar de todo, y cómo un suceso así trastoca muchas vidas, paciente, cuidador y familia.

    This biographical account is based on the life of a sixty-seven-year-old carer who looks after her son, Paco, disabled after having a traffic accident twenty years ago. After her son's accident, her life changed completely, presenting to her what is most unacceptable to a mother, which is a son's illness and suffering.

    Caring experiences are more powerful when the carer is the patient's mother, as it is more acceptable to take care of an old person, following in this way the logic life-cycle.

    This is the aspect I wanted to emphasize, the way in which a mother takes care, devoting herself fully to this task, her feelings, her fears, and her strength in spite of all, and how a happening like this transforms many lives: patient, carer and family.
