  La sede de la Asociación Balear contra la Anorexia y Bulimia está situada en un edificio antiguo cedido por la Consellería de Sanidad. En ella, hablé con Catalina secretaria) y Linda (tesorera), ambas son madres de chicas anoréxicas. La Asociación surge en 1995, a través de un grupo de padres que tenían sus hijas siguiendo un tratamiento con unas psicólogas. Funcionaba con una psicóloga, una antropóloga y se daba tratamiento como Centro de Día hasta noviembre de 1999. En ese año se inaguró la Unidad de Cruz Roja y la unidad en Son Dureta. Actualmente, funciona sólo como Asociación, a nivel informativo y también, con grupos de autoayuda, pero sin profesionales, como por ejemplo, el grupo de Inca. El cual, fue muy positivo; eran personas que llevaban catorce y quince años enfermas, sin decir nada a nadie. Oficialmente hay unos 300 casos registrados pero calculamos que hay 2000 casos. La gente solicita ayuda a la Asociación llamando por teléfono, a veces funciona como el teléfono de la esperanza

  The seat of the Balearic association against the anorexy and bulimia is located in an old building yielded by Consellería of Health. I spoke with Catalina ( secretary) and Linda (treasurer), both are mothers of anorexicas girls. The Associations begins in 1995, through a group of parents who had their children following a treatment with a psychologist. It worked with a psychologist, an anthropologist and by day dates treatment like center until november from 1999; in that year it was inagurated the unit of the Red Cross and the unit of Son Dureta. At the moment it works only like association at informative level. Also it has self-help group, without professionals, like for example, the group of Inca, that it was very positive. They were people who had been 14 and 15 years ill, without saying nothing to anybody. Officially, there are about 300 registered cases, but we calculated that there are 2000 cases. People asks for aid to the association by telephone, sometimes it works with telephone of the hope
