In January of 2020 we began to have the first news about what today is one of the largest health emergencies in the world, we talk about the SARS-Covid-19 virus, from Wuhan (China), and whose symptoms they were fever, dry cough, and dyspnea. This virus has an incubation period of 5 days, and the disease mainly affects people between the ages of 30 and 79, and with underlying pathologies such as hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes or kidney diseases.
SARS-Covid -19 is a disease that is transmitted by respiratory drops greater than 5 microns (Flügge drops), and by direct contact of the mucosa with secretions or material that is already contaminated, and that can also be carried on the hands it has been shown to be transmitted by aerosols and in healthcare staff it has been studied that it is transmitted by nosocomial transmission.
In the case of pregnant women, they undergo physiological and immunological changes that make them more susceptible to a viral and bacterial infection, and they have more change to suffer infections caused by respiratory viruses such as SAR-COV-1, this makes it a group of most vulnerable population, although studies show that having COVID-19 does not increase the risk of spontaneous abortion and spontaneous premature delivery, if there are alterations in coagulation.
During childbirth and feeding in a mother with Covid there is no evidence of vertical transmission, but the risk of horizontal transmission is the same as in any person, so the mother should assess the fact of breastfeeding in this case.
With this study I intend to show how we can act in pregnant women with the Covid-19 virus.
