El uso de sofisticados dispositivos y la aplicación de procedimientos de sostén artificial, asi como la responsabilidad en la toma de decisiones con la capacidad para cambiar los acontecimientos, generan en las Unidades de Cuidados Intensivos, conflictos ético-morales en el curso de la atención al enfermo grave. A partir de esto se analiza, con un sentido polémico, la relación entre cada uno de los principios de la Bioética con la medicina y la enfermería intensiva. Se crean interrogantes hasta que punto el actuar del personal médico y de enfermería puede influir en el desenlace final de un enfermo. Se aprecia la importancia de tener en cuenta la aplicación de esta ciencia para lograr que nuestro intento de rescatar vidas, seriamente comprometidas, no nos haga olvidar el respeto al decoro humano.
The use of sophisticated devices and the application of procedures of artificial support, as well as the responsibility in the taking of decisions with the faculty for changes events, cause in the Intensive Cares Units, ethical-morals conflicts during the attention of the seriously ill patient. Starting from this, it is analyzed, with a polemic sense, the relation among each one of the principles of the Bioethics with the medicine and intensive nursing. Queries are created to what extent the medical and nursing personnel can influence in the final outcome of a patient. Is appreciated the importance of considering the application of this science to achieve that our attempt to rescue lives, seriously committed, doesn't make us forget the respect of the human decorum.
