The risk factors of osteoporosis are variable and are states or conditions that confer an increased risk for the development of osteoporosis. This study aims to analyze the influence of the clinical risk factors in osteoporosis and age of the osteoporosis prevalence in patients who come to our clinic with two or more clinical risk factors of low bone mineral density. We are conducting a cross-sectional study of 108 female patients in whom bone mineral density was quantified by densitometry. We compare the prevalence of osteoporosis in our sample with the prevalence of the Spanish female population by age group. As a result we obtained a prevalence of osteoporosis in the patients of our study greater than the prevalence in the Spanish female population. Osteoporosis prevalence increases with age, the peak being among the 50-59 age group where the greatest prevalence ratio is found in regards to the general population. The use of osteoporosis clinical risk factors in the rehabilitation clinic is useful for its therapeutical management.
