Objetivo: Contribuir al conocimiento de la accidentabilidad laboral del personal de Enfermería en el Hospital General de Albacete.
Diseño: Estudio observacional retrospectivo/descriptivo Población: Se estudian un total de 112 accidentes de trabajo ocurridos entre los 1.023 trabajadores de Enfermería del Hospital General de Albacete (Auxiliares y ATS/DUE) entre los años 1991 y 1992.
Fuentes de información: Registros de accidentes laborales y partes de I.L.T. La incidencia en 1991 fue del 4,04% y en 1992 del 6,06%. Según colectivos los accidentes estudiados se distribuyen 40 en Auxiliares y 72 en ATS/DUE. Del total de causas de I.L.T. del personal de Enfermería, los accidentes de trabajo suponen un 7,1%. El número medio de días perdidos por personal que ha sufrido accidente de trabajo es de 11,57.
Conclusiones: La mayoría de los accidentes de trabajo cursan sin I.L.T. Como principal causa destacan los pinchazos. Existe un incremento de accidentabilidad del año 1992 con respecto al año 1991.
Aim / Objective. To research work accident risk among nursing staff at the “Hospital General” of Albacete.
Design. An observacional and retrospective / descriptive study Population. A total of 112 industrial accidents among a group of 1.023 workers at the “H. G.” of Albacete from 1991 to 1992 have been studied.
These workers include nurse auxiliaries, nursing assistants and E.U.D. (Graduate Nurse) Sources. Records of industrial accidents and medical reports of temporary labour incapacity (TLI) among population studied.
Measurement and main results. Two groups of workers can be considered:
430 auxiliaries 593 assistants and E.U.D.
112 Industrial accidents have occurred; 39 of them- that is, 35% of total population- filed a T.L.I.
The 1991 incidence was 4,04% and the 1992 one was 6,06%.
Within professional groups, the accidents studied are distributed as follows:
40 among auxiliaries 72 among assistants and E.U.D.
Within the total amount of T.L.I., the industrial accidents are 7,1%.
The average of sick days per person is 11,57.
Conclusions. Most accidents are not filed as T.L.I. The fact of nurses stitching themselves with needles stands out as one of the main accident causes.
Accident rate in 1992 was higher than in 1991.
