La prevenci6n de infecciones cruzadas es un factor a tener en nuestra practica diaria y, por lo tanto, limpiar, desinfectar y esterilizar es basico para realizar una buena praxis.
Para recopilar la informaci6n del estudio se realiz6 una encuesta de 6 preguntas sobre esterilizaci6n en podologfa que se pas6 a pod61ogos colegiados y a estudiantes del grado de podologfa vfa redes sociales, con el objetivo principal de conocer los metodos de trabajo de cada uno de ellos. Las encuestas se realizaron desde el 9 de julio del 201 7 hasta el 12 de julio del 2017. Se recopilaron 377 encuestas, de las cuales 12 fueron excluidas, quedando un total de 365 encuestas validas para el estudio.
El 37,5% de pod61ogos encuestados no utiliza un set de instrumental esteril para realizar tratamientos podol6gicos con cada paciente, con el consiguiente riesgo de producir infecciones cruzadas entre pacientes y paciente-pod61ogo.
The prevention of cross infections is a factor to have in our daily practice and, therefore, cleaning, disinfecting and sterilizing is basic to perform a good practice.
To collect the information of the study, a survey of 6 questions on sterilization in podiatry was carried out, which was passed on to collegiate podiatrists and podiatry students via social networks, with the main objective of knowing the working methods of each one of them. The surveys were conducted from July 9, 201 7 to July 12, 201 7. 3 77 surveys were collected, of which 12 were excluded, leaving a total of 3 65 surveys valid for the study.
37.5% of chiropodists surveyed did not use a set of sterile instruments to perform podiatric treatments with each patient, with the consequent risk of producing cross infections between patients and patient-chiropodist.
