Resumen de Afectación de la autoestima en pacientes con escoliosis. Necesidad de cuidados de enfermería

  Determinar si los pacientes entre 7-24 años diagnosticados de Escoliosis presentan problemas de Autoestima, y qué áreas están afectadas Estudio observacional, descriptivo y prospectivo, en todos los pacientes entre 7 y 24 años, intervenidos de Escoliosis en el Hospital Virgen del Rocío de Sevilla, en la U.G.C de Cirugía Ortopédica y Traumatológica, desde Marzo de 2010 a Marzo de 2011.

  Los datos indican que las mujeres son más susceptibles de presentar una AE Baja al menos en alguna de sus áreas, (independientemente del periodo de edad).

  Nos encontramos con unos factores de riesgo de Baja Autoestima, que son: sexo femenino, entre 17-24 años, y población urbana.

  Existe una relación entre Escoliosis y una Baja Autoestima. Cada área se afecta en distinto grado. Una baja autoestima influye negativamente en cómo se sienten, aprenden, se valoran, se comportan, se relacionan… Esto implica la existencia del Diagnóstico “Baja Autoestima Situacional”. Se pretende determinar los cuidados que tendrían estos pacientes.

  To determine if patients between 7-24 years and with a diagnostic of scoliosis have selfesteem issues, know what areas are more affected, and how each area can be affected at different degrees.

  Is a observational, descriptive and prospective study, in patients between 7 and 24 years, entered for an Scoliosis Procedure in the Hospital Virgen del Rocío of Seville, U.G.C. of Surgery Ortopedic and Traumatology, from March of 2010 to March of 2011.

  The evidence suggests that women are more likely to present a Low Self-esteem in at least some of their areas, (regardless of the period of age). Exist some risk factors for low selfesteem, are: feminine sex, between 17-24 years, and low urban population.

  The data suggests a relation between Scoliosis and Low Self-esteem. The differents areas can be affected at different degrees. A low selfesteem negatively influences how they feel, learn, are valued, behave, are related, etc. This correlation implies the existence of the diagnosis “Low Situational Self-esteem”. It is intended to determine the cares that these patients would have.
