La ergonomía en el diseño de las lentes progresivas. Patrones de movilidad de la cabeza asociados al uso de lentes progresivas

    LA TECNOLOGÍA DE DISEÑO Y FABRICACIÓN ACTUALMENTE utilizada en la definición y obtención de las lentes progresivas, ha avanzado notablemente en los últimos años, lo que ha permitido mejorar sensiblemente el producto final. No obstante aún no se ha podido correlacionar los parámetros de diseño con los parámetros subjetivos que inciden en la sensación de comodidad y la velocidad de adaptación a las lentes progresivas.

    Al objeto de generar nuevos criterios de diseño que permitan minimizar aún más el tiempo de adaptación y maximizar la comodidad de uso, el Instituto de Biomecánica de Valencia (IBV) e INDUSTRIAS DE ÓPTICA S.A. (INDO) han iniciado una línea de I+D, en la que se pretende incorporar al usuario como parte integral del proceso de definición del producto, a través de la caracterización de la respuesta biomecánica y subjetiva, y el estudio de la relación de éstas con los parámetros geométricos de la lente.

    The design and manufacture technology used at the moment in the definition and production of the progressive lenses, has advanced considerably in the last years, which has allowed to improve sensibly the final product.

    Nevertheless the design items haven't been able yet to correlate with the subjective parameters that affect to the sensation of comfort and the speed of adaptation to the progressive lenses.

    With the object of generating new criteria of design that lead to minimize even more the time of adaptation and to maximize the comfort of use, the Institute of Biomechanics of Valencia (IBV) and INDUSTRIAS DE ÓPTICA S.A.

    (INDO) have started a line of R+D, in which it is intended to incorporate to the user as integral part of the process of definition of the product, by means of the characterization of the biomechanics and subjective response, and the study of the relation of these responses with the geometric parameters of the lens.
