Necesidades sentidas de los adultos mayores derechohabientes de unidades de medicina familiar

    Introducción: De acuerdo con las actuales reformas en los sistemas de salud, es imprescindible que el paciente participe activamente en su cuidado desde su propio ámbito, para integrarlo es necesario conocer sus necesidades.

    Objetivo: Identificar las necesidades sentidas de los adultos mayores derechohabientes de unidades de medicina familiar de una institución de seguridad social en el área metropolitana de Querétaro, México.

    Metodología: Estudio cualitativo con diseño fenomenológico para conocer la experiencia de los adultos mayores dentro de los servicios de salud. Se realizaron 20 entrevistas a profundidad en el domicilio de quienes aceptaron la entrevista. Los informantes se seleccionaron al azar en cada una de las unidades de medicina familiar, Los datos se registraron en medio magnético (grabadora), previo consentimiento informado, como una forma de consistencia se trabajó con un grupo focal integrado por nueve participantes diferentes a los entrevistados individualmente (grabadora, videograbadora). Se utilizó entrevista semi estructurada, estudiantes de psicología e investigadora recogieron la información, se transcribieron y analizaron los discursos, se identificaron categorías. Resultados: Las necesidades sentidas de los participantes entrevistados, se centran en tres temas principales: Las relaciones interpersonales en los servicios de salud, el aspecto técnico médico de la atención y la calidad del medicamento que reciben Conclusión: Los aspectos de relación humana y afectiva se presentan como necesidades durante la atención que recibe en los servicios, conjuntamente con los cambios que percibe en la estructura institucional que los traduce como falta de insumos y recursos institucionales.

    Las necesidades sentidas influyen directamente en la relación instituciónpaciente y, por lo tanto, en el desempeño general de una y la salud de los otros.

    Introduction: According to the current reforms in health systems, it is crucial that patients take an active part in their own care, from their own daily environment. In order to integrate such participation, it is necessary to know the patients� needs.

    Objective: To identify the felt needs of the senior adult right holders of Family Medicine Units of a social security institution in the metropolitan area of Queretaro, Mexico.

    Method. A phenomenological qualitative study to learn about the experience of senior adults within health services. Twenty in-depth interviews were carried out at the homes of those who accepted to answer to the researchers. The participants were randomly selected from each of the Family Medicine Units. The data were audio recorded after getting informed consent from the participants. As a form of verification, one focus group was conducted and video-audio recorded with nine other participants. A semi structured interview was utilized. The main researcher and a group of psychology students gathered and transcribed the data analyzing the discourse and identifying categories.

    Results: the felt needs of the interviewed participants are centered on three main themes: Interpersonal relations in health services, the technical medical aspects of care and the quality of the medication they receive.

    Conclusion: Human and emotional relationships are presented as needs during the care that people receive, along with the changes they perceive in the institutional structure that the participants translate as lack of supplies and institutional resources.

    Felt needs directly influence the institutionpatient relationship and therefore, the general performance of the first and the health status of the second.
