La narrativa recoge el testimonio de un antiguo minero del Grupo Maurín sobre el accidente ocurrido el 19 de noviembre de 1984 en el Pozo Río de la Mina de Combustibles de Fabero (COFASA), donde ocho trabajadores fallecieron tras una deflagración por gas grisú. A través de una entrevista en el Ayuntamiento de Fabero, el relato reconstruye los hechos, las condiciones laborales y el impacto humano de la tragedia. Desde la mirada enfermera, la autora reflexiona sobre el sufrimiento persistente, la memoria colectiva y el valor del acompañamiento como forma de cuidado. Escuchar y sostener el silencio emergen como actos terapéuticos y éticos.
This narrative presents the testimony of a former miner from Grupo Maurín regarding the accident that occurred on November 19, 1984, at the Pozo Río of the Combustibles de Fabero (COFASA) mine, where eight workers died following a methane gas deflagration. Through an interview conducted at the Fabero Town Hall, the account reconstructs the events, working conditions, and the human impact of the tragedy. From a nursing perspective, the author reflects on enduring suffering, collective memory, and the value of accompaniment as a form of care. Listening and holding silence emerge as ethical and therapeutic acts.
