La inteligencia artificial (IA) puede definirse como la capacidad de una máquina para emular los procesos cognitivos humanos. Si una máquina supera la prueba de Turing, se puede afirmar que ha logrado imitar el comportamiento inteligente propio de la especie humana. La prueba de Turing consiste en que un evaluador humano interactúe con una máquina y otro humano sin saberlo previamente mediante un chat de texto; si el evaluador no logra distinguir a la máquina del humano después de una serie de preguntas, entonces la máquina pasa la prueba.
Artificial intelligence (AI) can be defined as a machine's ability to emulate human cognitive processes. If a machine passes the Turing test, it can be said to have successfully imitated intelligent behavior characteristic of the human species. The Turing test involves a human evaluator interacting with a machine and another human without prior knowledge of the other's identity via text chat. If the evaluator cannot distinguish the machine from the human after a series of questions, then the machine passes the test.
