El relato biográfico que se expone a continuación trata sobre la experiencia de una madre que al iniciar la lactancia materna sufre una serie de problemas que le llevan a dudar sobre su capacidad para mantener la lactancia. Durante el embarazo esta madre se había informado al respecto, y estaba totalmente motivada para iniciar la lactancia materna. Su entorno más cercano respetaba su decisión pero no la entendía y ella vivió una experiencia difícil de abordar. Finalmente la lactancia se instauró sin dificultad tras contactar con la matrona de atención primaria que realizó el diagnóstico y derivación oportunos. El relato se lleva a cabo por ella con emoción y sentimiento, reconociendo que la matrona fue una pieza clave en el éxito de su lactancia.
The following biographical story is based on the first -person experience of a woman and her problems when trying to breastfeed for the first time, as well as difficulties leading her to question her ability to do so. During her pregnancy she compiled information about this subject and was fully determined and motivated to start breastfeeding. Her closest friends and relatives respected her but did not fully agree with her ideas and this actually made her decission even harder. Finally breastfeeding was carried out without any difficulties after getting help from a midwife at the health centre who performed the adequate diagnosis and medical referal. This first person story is emotively narrated by her while exposing all her feelings and recognising the role of the midwife as a key factor for breastfeeding success.
