Introducción: El Grado de Enfermería de la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela (USC) contiene una asignatura llamada “Estadística y Metodología de la Investigación”. Resulta que es importante evaluar el conocimiento que adquiere el alumno de grado de enfermería en relación a las bases de datos electrónicas, así como su uso. Objetivo: Evaluar el nivel de conocimientos que tienen los alumnos de enfermería de la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela (USC) en referencia a las bases de datos susceptibles a usar a lo largo de la carrera. Metodología: Se trata de un estudio descriptivo, que utilizauna encuesta de 11 preguntas los alumnos de la facultad de enfermería de la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela (USC). De todos los alumnos/as se excluyen a los que están en programade Sistema de Intercambio entre Centros Universitarios Españoles (SICUE) o ERASMUS, acrónimo del nombre oficial en inglés, European Region Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students (Plan de Acción de la Comunidad Europea para la Movilidad de Estudiantes Universitarios) Resultados: Se analizaron 133 encuestas, de las cuales solo fueron válidas 127. Respecto al nivel de conocimiento para realizar búsquedas bibliográficas reconocido por los participantes encontramos que el 5% considera que tiene un nivel malo (opción 1), el 29% considera que posee un nivel regular (opción 2), el 54% un nivel suficiente (opción 3) y por último el 12% restante opinan que tienen un nivel muy bueno. Conclusiones: A partir de los resultados obtenidos en este trabajo se puede concluir que los alumnos se encuentran mayoritariamente en un intervalo de suficiente (muy bueno) en cuanto a los conocimientos para realizar búsquedas bibliográficas. Una buena forma de poder valorar estos resultados sería realizar la misma encuesta el curso siguiente para analizar si al subir de curso los alumnos van adquiriendo más conocimiento.
The Nursising Degree of the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) contains a subject called “Statistics and Research Methodology".It turns out that it is important to evaluate the knowledge that the nursing student acquires in relation to electronic databases, as well as their use.Objective:Assess the level of knowledge they have the nursing students of the USC in reference to the databases susceptible to use throughout the career. Methodology: This is a descriptive study, using a survey of 11 questions was carried out to the students of the nursing faculty of the USC. Of all the students, those who are in the SICUE or ERASMUS program are excluded. The methodology of the article by Valdespino Alberti, AI et al (2013) was followed with certain modifications to adapt the study to the students of the faculty and the objective of this study. Results: 133 surveys were analyzed, of which only 127 were valid. Regarding the level of knowledge to carry out bibliographic searches recognized by the participants, we found that: 5% consider that it has a bad level (option 1), 29% consider that has a regular level (option 2), 54% a sufficient level (option 3) and finally the remaining 12% think that they have a very good level. Conclusions: From the results obtained in this work it can be concluded that: the students are mostly in a range of enough-very good in terms of knowledge to perform bibliographic searches. A good way to be able to assess these results would be to conduct the same survey the following year to analyze if students are acquiring more knowledge.
