Objetivo principal: Analizar las experiencias sobre la enseñanza de la historia de enfermería en México. Metodología: Diseño cualitativo. La población se reclutó de redes sociales. La muestra se obtuvo con la saturación teórica. Se incluyeron profesionales y estudiantes bajo consentimiento informado. Resultados principales: Se analizaron las respuestas de 23 participantes, el 76,9% son mujeres (Edad, M=36,5±10,5 años). El 92,3% formados en instituciones públicas. Se registraron cinco categorías, 15 dimensiones, 75 atributos y 12 códigos vivos. Los actores mencionan que la formación en historia no abarca lo contemporáneo, solo es un aspecto general, desvalorizado, tedioso y romantizado. Sin embargo, con las clases de historia, se reconoce a las enfermeras como protagonistas para trascender en lo socio-político y económico. Conclusión principal: La historia de la enfermería es un tema rezagado en la formación profesional. No obstante, se reconoce que sirve para entender los cambios futuros y analizar áreas de oportunidad para el desarrollo profesional.

Results: Responses from 23 participants were analyzed; 76,9% were women (Age, M=36,5±10,5 years). A total of 92,3% were trained in public institutions. Five categories, 15 dimensions, 75 attributes, and 12 in vivo codes were identified. Participants indicated that the teaching of history does not cover contemporary aspects, and is generally undervalued, tedious, and romanticized. However, through history classes, nurses are recognized as key figures in socio-political and economic transformations. Conclusions: Nursing history remains a neglected topic in professional training. Nonetheless, it is acknowledged as useful for understanding future changes and identifying areas of opportunity for professional development.
