Se presenta el caso de un niño de 10 años que acude a urgencias tras sufrir una herida abierta penetrante por valla metálica en la pared torácica izquierda, con exposición de tejido muscular y enfisema subcutáneo evidente en la radiografía de tórax. No se identifican otras alteraciones significativas. Se realiza manejo inicial conservador con sutura de herida en quirófano, analgesia, profilaxis con antibioterapia y observación hospitalaria. El paciente evolucionó favorablemente sin complicaciones.
We present the case of a ten years old boy who went to the emergency room after suffering a penetrating open wound from a metal fence in the left chest wall, With muscle tissue exposure and subcutaneous emphysema evident on chest x–ray. No other significant alterations are identified. Initial conservative management was performed with wound suturing in the operating room, analgesia, prophylaxis with antibiotic therapy and hospital observation. The patient evolves favorably without complications.
