Background: Through the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) program, the target is to address all forms of malnutri-tion and reduce stunting and wasting in toddlers by 2030. Thismovement involves policymakers working together to reducethe prevalence of stunting in Indonesia. The objective of thisstudy was to analyze and prioritize, through the Hierar chicalAnalytical Process (AHP), public policy strategies to acceleratethe reduction of stunting in the city of Tasikmalaya.
Methods: This research was conducted using a mixedmethod, including a qualitative approach for interviews and aquantitative approach for prioritization analysis using AHP. Thesampling technique used a purposive sampling, with 14 re-spondents, with the inclusion criteria were: more than 5 yearsof experience in nutrition policy, representation from key insti-tutions, and a decision-making level of middle to upper man-agement. Interviews were conducted to obtain information onstrategic issues in stunting management in Tasikmalaya City. The selection of these alternative policy strategies will be de-termined in focus group discussions (FGDs) held at govern-ment institutions. AHP analysis is carried out using ExpertChoice software version 10.
Results: Based on the Analytical Hierarchy Process fromrespondents, the most important alternative strategy is themacronutrient intake intervention. This was determinedthrough an evaluation based on four key criteria: budgetaryreadiness, infrastructure, institutional sustainability, andcommunity readiness. For example, providing locally sourcedfood supplements, such as eggs and milk, to toddlers is con-sidered the most rapid and effective way to address stuntingin toddlers. This research found that three months of FoodSupplement support resulted in increased weight, as well asimprovements in nutritional status. Most toddlers experi-enced weight gain during the support period.
Conclusion: Macro-nutrition interventions are clearlysuperior to other program strategies because this programcan be sustainable. The government has to provide moremacronutrient interventions, such as providing rice, milk, and eggs, for toddlers to prevent stunting
