He is a 62-year-old widower with two children, with no known allergies, and fully vaccinated. He tells us that he has been going to the health center (HC) for several months to treat the ulcer on his right foot, due to his diabetic foot. He suffers from type 1 diabetes mellitus, high blood pressure, dyslipidemia, and psoriasis. He tells us that he is a little tired of having to come to the health center three days a week for treatment, but that he doesn’t want to end up like the last time, when the ulcer worsened sharply due to not going. He tells us that he lives with one of his sons and the two of them get along wonderfully. He says that nothing is like it was when his wife was here, but that he faces life with positivity. He is happy because his other son has just become a father, and having a granddaughter brings a smile to his face. We ask him about his social circle, and he tells us that he has never lacked friends and goes out with them every day. However, his poorly controlled diabetes has led to diabetic retinopathy and nephropathy. He is a regular tobacco smoker and occasional cigar smoker. He tells us he has no intention of quitting. He knows it’s not the best course of action given his condition, but, as he says, «You have to die of something.»
