El objetivo del presente artículo es dar a conocer la importante labor en el área oncológica del Trabajador Social Sanitario con los pacientes afectados de cáncer y sus familiares.
Durante el proceso de la enfermedad se ven afectadas las diferentes áreas biopsicosociales del individuo, y para ello se necesita un abordaje integral en el que han de participar activamente el paciente y su familia junto a los profesionales del servicio médico y de enfermería, el Trabajador Social, el psicólogo y/o psiquiatra, entre otros.
The objective of this article is to publicize the important work in the oncology area of the Health Social Work with patients affected by cancer and their families.
During the disease process, the different biopsychosocial areas of the individual are affected, and for this a comprehensive approach is needed in which the patient and their family must actively participate together with the professionals of the medical and nursing service, the Social Worker, the psychologist and/or psychiatrist, among others.
