La humanización en el cuidado de la salud constituye un enfoque esencial que promueve una atención centrada en la persona, reconociendo su dignidad, valores y necesidades emocionales, sociales y espirituales. En un contexto sanitario cada vez más tecnificado, este modelo busca equilibrar la eficacia clínica con el acompañamiento humano, favoreciendo una relación terapéutica basada en la empatía, la comunicación y el respeto. El rol de los profesionales de enfermería es clave en este proceso, dada su cercanía con el paciente y su visión holística del cuidado. Esta revisión bibliográfica analiza la importancia de la humanización en distintos ámbitos asistenciales, las principales prácticas que la promueven, las barreras que dificultan su implementación y las estrategias institucionales necesarias para consolidarla. Los resultados destacan que una atención humanizada mejora no solo la experiencia del paciente, sino también los resultados clínicos y la satisfacción del personal sanitario, contribuyendo a un sistema de salud más ético, eficaz y humano.
Humanization in healthcare is an essential approach that promotes person-centered care, recognizing the dignity, values, and emotional, social, and spiritual needs of the individual. In an increasingly technological healthcare context, this model seeks to balance clinical effectiveness with humane accompaniment, fostering a therapeutic relationship based on empathy, communication, and respect. The role of nursing professionals is key in this process, given their closeness to the patient and their holistic vision of care. This literature review analyzes the importance of humanization in different healthcare settings, the main practices that promote it, the barriers that hinder its implementation, and the institutional strategies necessary to consolidate it. The results highlight that humanized care improves not only the patient experience but also clinical outcomes and healthcare staff satisfaction, contributing to a more ethical, effective, and humane healthcare system.
