Paciente de 37 años, diagnosticada de esquizofrenia durante la adolescencia (17 años) a raíz de un continuado consumo de cannabis. Comienza tratamiento desde el primer brote en la edad ya descrita, y desde entonces, sufre varias descompensaciones a lo largo de los años, causados por, en su mayoría, abandonos del tratamiento prescrito. La reagudización de los síntomas afecta a la paciente en muchas esferas, fundamentalmente en la social y personal, demostrando conducta de aislamiento y descuido de higiene y cuidados personales.
Se elaborará un plan de cuidados para abordar la compleja situación de la paciente, con el objetivo de no solo eliminar los síntomas positivos de una esquizofrenia, si no también los negativos (aislamiento, abandono de cuidados propios, del hogar, etc.).
37-year-old patient diagnosed with Schizophrenia during her childhood (17 years old) caused by a cannabis intake. She started with treatment since the first appearance of symptoms when she was 17 years old, and from then on, she had suffered various psychotic decompensations along the years, mostly caused by abandonment of the required treatment. The exacerbation of the symptoms affected the patient in many spheres, mostly in the social and personal ones, showing a behaviour of isolation and carelessness in hygiene and personal care.
A care plan is going to be elaborate to approach this complex situation the patient suffers with the goal of not only eliminating positive symptoms of schizophrenia, but to eliminate the negative ones as well (isolation, neglected personal care, neglected home care, etc.).
