Paciente de 89 años, que vive en casa con su marido, hijo y nieta. Es una mujer que actualmente sus actividades de la vida diaria están limitadas. Puesto que presenta problemas de visión, audición, limitación de movimientos e inicio de demencia tipo Alzheimer. A estos problemas le añadimos los miedos que manifiesta la paciente ante las caídas, que ha sufrido de manera recurrente en el último año, y su sentimiento de abandono, en el cual siente que sus familiares no entienden que no quiera moverse.
Es una persona que no sale de casa y que los desplazamientos que realiza son de la cama al sofá, del sofá a la cocina y de ahí al baño. Si le añadimos que se trata de una paciente con problemas vasculares y con DM, eso dificulta cualquier herida que pueda acontecer.
Tras una caída fortuita, tras levantarse de la cama, se hizo una herida incisa en la zona tibial de miembro inferior derecho. La paciente se lavó la herida con agua y jabón. No obstante, unos días después tuvo que avisar a su enfermera puesto que se le puso roja, se le edematizó y no cerraba la herida.

After an accidental fall, after getting out of bed, he suffered an incised wound in the tibial area of his right lower limb. The patient washed the wound with soap and water. However, a few days later he had to notify his nurse because the wound turned red, swollen, and did not close.
