A 63-year-old patient, a housewife, goes to the Nursing office of the Health Center to take her blood pressure. She has hypertension and obesity. The patient mentions that she is allergic to pyrazolones and that she has been feeling very anxious lately because her son has lost his job. She tells us that she thinks blood pressure monitoring is pointless and that, although she does not eat salt, she only takes her medication if she has a headache. She does not exercise because she has never done it and does not feel the need to.
Her usual treatment consists of a low-sodium diet and Enalapril 5mg (one tablet at breakfast). She appears clean and well-groomed, with hydrated skin. She wears glasses and prefers comfortable clothing. She mentions that she has not met up with her friends in a long time because she has lost contact with them. They used to meet to go to church and take a walk, but now, even though she does not feel like it, she continues to pray at home. She loves cooking, although she admits that she eats too much but drinks a lot of water. At home, she takes care of everything and does all the household chores. She acknowledges that she has not been sleeping well lately in fact, she can barely sleep and spends hours tossing and turning in bed because she does not like watching television.
