La hematuria, un motivo de consulta frecuente en atención primaria, es un reto clínico que requiere de un seguimiento estrecho longitudinal el cual debiera apoyarse además en pruebas complementarias realizadas desde este nivel asistencial como la ecografía clínica nefrourológica.
El objetivo de el caso que presentamos, es dar visibilidad a cómo el manejo de la ecografía clínica desde Atención Primaria en el contexto de una hematuria macroscópica, puede lanzar una respuesta etiológica casi inminente en manos de profesionales debidamente cualificados, permitiendo agilizar tiempo de derivación al especialista correspondiente, en este caso urología, y por ende favoreciendo un manejo terapéutico precoz que reducirá la tasa de morbimortalidad vinculante al proceso subyacente.
Hematuria, a frequent reason for consultation in primary care, is a clinical challenge that requires close longitudinal monitoring, which should also be supported by complementary tests performed at this level of care, such as clinical urological ultrasound.
The objective of the case we present is to give visibility to how the management of clinical ultrasound from Primary Care in the context of macroscopic hematuria can launch an almost imminent etiological response in the hands of duly qualified professionals, allowing for a faster referral time to the corresponding specialist, in this case urology, and therefore favoring early therapeutic management that will reduce the rate of morbidity and mortality linked to the underlying process.
