Paciente de 95 años, derivada en Soporte Vital Básico (SVB) del 061 a urgencias del Hospital General de la Defensa por una caída accidental en su domicilio. Refiere contusión sobre la cadera izquierda, acompañada de extremidad acortada y en rotación externa, dolor e incapacidad.
Se realiza la exploración de la paciente junto con las pruebas complementarias pertinentes. En la radiografía de cadera se objetiva una fractura pertrocantérea de la cadera izquierda.
Se comenta el caso con el traumatólogo de guardia, que indica iniciar preoperatorio y realizar ingreso en planta de cirugía para intervención programada.
95-year-old patient, referred by Basic Life Support (BLS) from 061 to the emergency room of the General Hospital of the Defense due to an accidental fall at home. She reports a bruise on the left hip, accompanied by a shortened and externally rotated limb, pain and disability.
The patient is examined along with the relevant complementary tests. A hip X-ray reveals a pertrochanteric fracture of the left hip.
The case is discussed with the on-call traumatologist, who indicates that preoperative care should be started and that the patient should be admitted to the surgery ward for a scheduled intervention.
