La epidermólisis bullosa es un conjunto de enfermedades hereditarias de presentación diversa desde formas más leves a otras más graves, que afectan a la piel y las mucosas y suponen la formación de ampollas y vesículas que aparecen tras mínimos traumatismos, con afectación variable de otros órganos. No existe un tratamiento específico y su evolución es crónica, afectando de forma muy negativa en la calidad de vida del paciente y su supervivencia, lo cual supone un reto para los afectados, su entorno y profesionales sanitarios.
Epidermolysis bullosa is a group of hereditary diseases with diverse presentations, from mild to more severe forms, which affect the skin and mucous membranes and involve the formation of blisters and vesicles that appear after minor trauma, with variable involvement of other organs. There is no specific treatment and its evolution is chronic, affecting very negatively the quality of life of the patient and their survival, which represents a challenge for those affected, their environment and health professionals.
